Super Moon Eclipse - January 20-21, 2019

Good evening everyone…

It was great to see so many took in the eclipse and posted images…great
work by all who shared their images. As Phil said it was ------ cold, fill in your
expletive of choice!!!

Attached is one of my many pics taken near mid totality…imaged through a
Stellarvue 110ED scope (equal to a 770mm telephoto lens) and Canon 60D
camera. This was a 2 sec exposure with the camera set at 400 ISO. I am
surprised the camera and mount worked as well as they did in the cold (-26.5C),
but I did some solar imaging on Sunday around noon and it wasn’t a lot warmer
then either, LOL.

Super Moon Eclipse - January 20-21, 2019

I could not even use my iOptron Mini Tower Pro mount last night. Had to fall back
on good old Canon DSR and lenses on a SkyTracker mount. Worked pretty good.
Here is a cropped image from totality. Way too cold though. With windchills of -35C
it is dangerous out there!
Another one for the record books though.

Keep looking up,
